Dive Into Creativity: Explore Your Workshop Lineup!
Modifying Necklines: All you need to know to adjust them
(with case studies) with Joji Locatelli
Necklines can completely transform a sweater: its style, its fit, and how it feels to wear. In this in-depth workshop, we will explore how to confidently modify necklines so they reflect your personal vision and work beautifully within different sweater constructions.
- Through clear explanations and practical case studies, you will learn how to:
- Modify a classic crew neck raglan into a flattering V-neck.
- Raise or lower a crew neckline in a set-in sleeve sweater with shoulder seams.
- Adjust a V-neck (make it wider, narrower, higher, or deeper) in a sweater with shoulder seams.
- Design and shape a boat neck in both set-in sleeve and raglan constructions.
- Use short rows in circular yoke sweaters to lower the front neckline — including understanding their structural limitations.
- Use short rows in raglan sweaters to lower the front neckline — and when this approach works best.
- Reduce, enlarge, lower, or raise necklines in circular yoke and raglan sweaters.
Beyond Slipped Stitches: Design with Texture and Color
with Joji Locatelli
Dipped stitches are a simple yet striking technique that create elongated stitches by working into rows below, producing beautiful vertical movement and sculptural texture. They can be bold or subtle, graphic or organic, and they offer endless design possibilities.
In this workshop, we’ll go beyond the basics to explore how dipped stitches can become a powerful tool for designing texture and color in your knitting. Whether you’re completely new to the technique or have already experimented with it, you’ll learn how to approach dipped stitches not just as a stitch pattern, but as a design element.
We will be working on a shawl project using fingering weight yarn.
The Art & Architecture of Cables with Veera Välimäki

Cable knitting is so much more than simple "crosses." This workshop moves beyond basic techniques to help you understand the flow, logic, and heritage of these iconic textures. We will discover the deep-rooted history and modern application of cable knitting in the world of design.
We will also dive into the mechanics of the stitch, giving you the confidence to navigate complex charts and understand how cables interact with different sweater structures.
In this workshop, we will explore:
- Context and history of cable patterns and how they’ve evolved.
- Insights on integrating cables into various project types and understanding their movement across the fabric.
- Hands-On Practice: We will work through a beautifully curated "Mixed Cable Sample", to feel the rhythm of different twists and turns.
- Master different styles of working cables without a cable needle to increase knitting speed and fluidity.
Materials needed:
- Yarn: DK-weight yarn, approximately 50g.
- Needles: US 6 [4 mm] needles, or suitable for your yarn and a cable needle.
No homework.
Customizing Asymmetrical and Compound Raglans: Mastering Sweater Fit

This workshop is for anyone who is interested in customizing sweater fit! We'll be looking at raglan yoke construction, and learning how to combine two sizes in any pattern for better fit. If you've ever sized a raglan sweater to your bust and ended up with poor fit around your bicep, this workshop is for you! First, you'll learn how to take accurate body measurements. Using case studies, you'll also learn how to extract useful information from patterns, and how to use this information to easily customize fit around your bust and shoulders.
Time permitting, we’ll also discuss how to add waist shaping to any sweater pattern, or modify existing waist shaping for better fit.
Materials:
tape measure
pen/pencil and paper for note taking
Lecture: Knitting the World with Nara Takeda

Traveling to knit is no longer a niche idea. Knitting retreats, fiber festivals, and craft-focused trips are growing fast, attracting makers who want to combine their love for travel with their passion for yarn. Craft chronist Nara Takeda has been ahead of this curve, taking her needles to over 100 destinations around the world, including nearly every major knitting festival on the map. From a retreat in Argentina to festivals across continents, she shares how knitting on the road builds unexpected connections, and why this growing movement is changing the way makers explore the world.
Lecture: Colorwork as Identity: Designing Beyond Technique with Cecilia Losada of Mamma DIY

Colorwork is often approached as a technique — but it can also be a language.
In this lecture, I explore how colorwork becomes a tool for expression, shaped by personal history, cultural roots, and visual memory. Drawing from my South American background and my work across knitting and crochet, I share how motifs, contrast, and structure can move beyond decoration to create designs with identity.
Through selected projects and real examples, this lecture offers a new way of understanding colorwork — not just as something you follow, but as something you build and make your own.
