Vogue Knitting LIVE! Details

Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting is a one-of-a-kind, experiential knitting event. Take workshops that will increase your skills in all sorts of fiber-related crafts, from knitting, crochet, and weaving to spinning and even color theory as it applies to your projects. Shop the Marketplace, which showcases new yarn and accessories from around the world. Enjoy designer fashion shows and browse the knitted art gallery. All of this and more in one weekend! If you’re a knitter, this is the event for you!

Knitting LIVE! New York will take place from Thursday, January 16, 2025, through Sunday, January 19, 2025. You can view the full schedule of events on the Classes page.

Knitting LIVE! New York will take place at the New York Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway, New York, NY 10036. We have also arranged for a discounted block of rooms at the hotel. You can learn more on the Venue & Accommodations page.

Classes and Lectures

Classes, lectures, and special events take place during the following hours:

Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM (ET)
Friday and Saturday: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (ET)
Sunday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET)

Yes, you will be asked to select your classes and lectures when you register. This not only speeds up the registration process, but also helps ensure that you get into the classes you want, should any sell out. To save time, we recommend you choose your classes before registering.

Exclusive means that this class is unique to Knitting LIVE!. In other words, the teacher will only be teaching this class at Knitting LIVE and will not be teaching this class at any other knitting show over the next year. 

Homework is listed for some of the classes. Homework is work that teachers require be completed before your class meets. For homework, please visit the Classes page, select a class, and then click on the magnifying glass. Any homework needed for that particular class will be listed. Contact Knitting LIVE! via the chat bot, 985-240-5511, or questions@american-tradeshow.com if you have additional questions about the homework.

Supplies are required for some of the classes. Supplies are tools that teachers request you bring to class. For required supplies, please visit the Classes page, select a class, and scroll down. Any supplies needed for that particular class will be listed. Contact Knitting LIVE! via the chat bot, 985-240-5511, or questions@american-tradeshow.com if you have additional questions about the supplies.

If you prefer to buy supplies at the Marketplace, please allow for enough time to purchase them before your class starts. Keep in mind that the Marketplace may not be open before the start of your class. Also note that we cannot guarantee that the Marketplace will have the specific supplies you are looking for, so please plan in advance.

In addition to the class supply list, if you have favorite tools, bring them. Scissors, stitch markers, stitch holders, tape measure, hooks and needles in different sizes, support gloves, and note-taking materials can be easily tucked in a bag.

For some classes, a materials fee is listed. This fee covers the cost of materials provided by the teacher in the classroom. This fee is in addition to the ticket cost and should be paid directly to the teacher in the classroom. Please bring exact change if possible.

The following is a general guideline. Please refer to the specific class for additional prerequisite information. Please check that the class is at your skill level.

  • All Levels Welcome: Accessible and of interest to those who have years of experience as well as those just starting out.
  • Beginner: Can knit and purl, cast on and bind off. Eager to learn!
  • Advanced Beginner: Has beginner skills, plus can work simple increases/decreases, follow written instructions, and can work basic stitch patterns. Ready to move to the next level.
  • Intermediate: All skills of an advanced beginner, plus proficiency working in the round and has completed multiple accessories or a basic garment. Proficient in many kinds of stitch patterns.
  • Experienced: Skilled at all knitting techniques. Able to adjust patterns and personalize knits via fit and/or design.
  • Expert: Experienced in all techniques and looking for a real challenge.

Vogue Knitting LIVE! Registration

Attendees can choose from several registration options, including individual classes, individual lectures, and packages. Please refer to the Packages and Pricing page for details on the registration options.

The early bird registration deadline is at 11:59pm EDT on November 15 . Regular prices will begin November 16.

Yes, on-site registrations will be accepted. Some sessions may sell out in advance, so please register as early as possible to secure your spot.

Yes, groups of 10 or more are entitled to a discount on their registration. Please contact registration via the chat bot on our website, 985-240-5511, or questions@american-tradeshow.com for information on available group discounts. 

Yes. Students save $15 off classes. Please reach out to registration via the chat bot, 985-240-5511, or questions@american-tradeshow.com, with a copy of your student ID to receive the student discount code to use when registering online. If you are registering on-site, simply provide your student ID at the Registration Desk. If you are registering over the phone, Knitting LIVE! will ask you to send a copy of your student ID.

With the exception of the cocktail reception and gala dinner that are included with purchase of the Big Apple Weekender or 5th Avenue Getaway packages, meals are not included in your registration fee. Please refer to the Venue & Accommodations page for hotel dining options as well as information on nearby restaurants.

Absolutely. This website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your personal information when you place your order. This means your order cannot be read as it travels over the Internet, so your name, address, and credit card information are secure.

You will not be prompted for your hotel details when you register. However, you can make your hotel room reservation at any time via the button on the Venue & Accommodations page. This link will also be provided in your registration confirmation email. 

To use your credit or discount code, please input the code when prompted. The site will automatically calculate your registration fees and subtract the code’s value. Please note that only one discount code can be used per customer. 

 

You can modify your registration by logging in here, or you can contact Knitting LIVE via the chat bot, 985-240-5511, or questions@american-tradeshow.com. There is no fee to modify your registration.

Children 12 and under are permitted in the Marketplace at no extra cost.

Check-In and Onsite Information

When you arrive, please check in at the registration desk to receive your show badge. You will need a photo ID or a copy of your receipt. Your badge will be your only means of admission to events. You MUST present your badge at the door to be admitted to any event.

Be sure to check in with the Registration Desk as soon as you realize you’ve lost your badge. There is a $10 replacement fee for lost badges.

Yes. We have made sure our facility has total accessibility, and we’ll do whatever is needed to make attending Knitting LIVE! as convenient as possible for all attendees.

We have made the following arrangements:

  • Early Access for the Marketplace, Cocktail Reception and Dinner Access is available for those attendees with disabilities who indicated a need for additional time when they register for the event. Please skip the lines and head straight to the entrance.  A volunteer will let you in up to 20 minutes ahead of time. 
  • All students are permitted to arrive to all classes up to two hours ahead of time. If you need additional time to get settled, please arrive early. 
  • Disabled seating at the fashion show stage on the 6th floor will be designated with signs and rope and stanchion. If additional seating or space is required, please see a volunteer or staff member for assistance. Or call 985 240 5511 to arrange additional assistance that may be needed ahead of time. 
  • Accessible restrooms are located throughout the venue. Please see a Marriott representative or VK LIVE volunteer or staff member for direction to the nearest location. Marriott Marquis is equipped with elevators. These elevators will take you up to all floors and meeting space (4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th floors). Please see a volunteer or staff member for assistance. Or call 985 240 5511 to arrange additional assistance that may be needed ahead of time. 
  • Storage is available for wheelchairs, canes, walkers and other mobility devices at coat check on the 3rd floor. 
  • There will be a Quiet Zone available on the 7th floor in the Harlem room during Marketplace hours for those who have sensory needs or just need a break! Noise canceling headphones and other resources are available.

Health and Safety

COVID Policy
Vaccination Policy: Proof of vaccine will not be required to attend Vogue Knitting LIVE! 2025 in New York City

Masking: Based on current guidelines from New York City, Knitting LIVE! we will not require masking, but recommend masks in crowded areas and in classes where teachers have requested masks (indicated in the class description). Complimentary masks will be available on site as well as hand sanitizer stations, and our cleaning crews will do frequent cleanings in high-touch areas. To create a safe shopping environment for those who are immune compromised or have a disability and indicate a need for additional time and protocols, there will be masked shopping hours on Saturday & Sunday 9AM–10AM. 

This is our COVID policy as of now; it will be updated based on any masking or vaccine requirement changes from city, state, or federal authorities. We will follow all masking requirements based on community transmission, which you can track at www.cdc.gov

It is vital to us that Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting is a safe place for all attendees. Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting is a private event and people who mistreat or disrespect other people will be removed and not allowed for the duration of the event. Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting reserves the right to permanently ban attendees and guests who do not comply with the code of conduct, including for future events put on by Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting LLC. Please use good judgement and be respectful, as we’ll dislike throwing you out almost as much as you’ll dislike being thrown out.

HARASSMENT
Disorderly conduct includes (but isn’t limited to) any behavior that is illegal, unsafe, disruptive, discriminatory, or causes excessive discomfort to our attendees or guests.

LISTEN TO STAFF
All Knitting LIVE! attendees and badge purchasers must adhere to the instructions of all Knitting LIVE! employees and agents, all security employees and agents, the staff of the hotel, and any and all law enforcement personnel.

PROHIBITIONS
Alcohol, drugs, weapons, and items that can be mistaken as weapons are expressly prohibited. Backpacks and other similar containers are subject to search and may be prohibited. Unlawful sale or attempted sale of badges will result in the revocation of that badge without refund.

LIABILITY
You assume any and all risks occurring before, during, or after Knitting LIVE!. You release Knitting LIVE! and the hotel and their agents, licensees, assignees, and their respective affiliates and representatives from any related claims.

Knitting LIVE! TERMS OF USE
All Event attendees and guests are required to adhere to this Code of Conduct. The Knitting LIVE! badge, which is required for admittance to all Knitting LIVE! activities, is a revocable license. Knitting LIVE! or its designees may, without refund, revoke this license for noncompliance with these terms or for disorderly conduct.

Knitting LIVE has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind. If a person engages in harassing behavior, Knitting LIVE staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from Knitting LIVE with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the convention. Exhibitors, attendees, speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, volunteers, and security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action

Early Access to the Marketplace is available on Saturday and Sunday  9AM–10AM for those who have noted the need in their registration. Masks are required during this time. 

Headed to the cocktail reception, dinner, a class, or lecture? Do not wait on line. Early Access for the Marketplace, Cocktail Reception and Dinner Access is available for those attendees with disabilities who indicated a need for additional time when they register for the event. Please skip the lines and head straight to the entrance.  A volunteer will let you in up to 20 minutes ahead of time. Just tell the door monitor that you need Early Access, and they will let you into the room early (if possible) to get your seat. All students are permitted to arrive to all classes up to two hours ahead of time. If you need additional time to get settled, please arrive early. 

Aisles in the Marketplace have been expanded to make the Marketplace more easily accessible.

Headed to a Fashion Show at the Marketplace stage? Look out for spots designated for mobility assistance users.  Disabled seating at the fashion show stage on the 6th floor will be designated with signs and rope and stanchion. Looking for a quiet spot to take a break? There will be a Quiet Zone available on the 7th floor in the Harlem room during Marketplace hours for those who have sensory needs or just need a break! Noise canceling headphones and other resources are available.

Policies, Procedures, and Privacy

Yes, you might be photographed or videotaped. By attending Knitting LIVE! from January 16-19, 2025, you agree to the following: As a participant, I understand that my image may be used in association with additional editorial and promotional materials. In consideration of my appearance, and without my further consideration, I hereby grant permission to utilize my image in connection with said promotional and editorial materials in any and all manner and media through the world in perpetuity. I agree that my participation in the event may be edited at the discretion of Vogue Knitting. I expressly release Vogue Knitting, SoHo Publishing, its agents, employees, and licensees from and against any claims that I have or may have for invasion of privacy, defamation or any other cause of action arising out of production, distribution, broadcast or exhibition of this event. I agree that all resulting intellectual property is the sole property of Vogue Knitting.
