Originally from Buffalo, NY, Felicia graduated from Canisius College with a biology/premed degree and attended podiatry school at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. Upon completing her training, she practiced podiatry in Buffalo, NY, and Washington, DC, for the next ten years, until she and her family returned to New York City in 2005. Felicia, the proud mother three, stayed home with her children; after five years she decided to return to work and began a seven-year stint at Keep a Child Alive, a nonprofit cofounded by Alicia Keys that provided treatment and support of women and children in Sub-Sahara Africa and India affected by HIV/ AIDS. Over the course of her time there she traveled to Africa multiple times, raising money for the cause both domestically and internationally as a member of the development team.
Felicia is now the owner of String Thing Studio in Brooklyn, which opened June 2017. The five-year-old shop offers classes, events, fiber-themed trips, and serves as a gathering space for the community as well. Felicia brings her vast experience from the various careers that she has held to her current venture and looks forward to sharing insight with you!
