Class Details:

The goal of this class is to create a safe and fun space for students to deepen a friendship or make a new friend through conversation and knitting. Students should either register for the class with a friend, or they will be assigned a buddy. We will be working on the Wave of Change Blanket. Students will either learn or review the Magic Loop Method, as the blanket is a square that is knit in the round from the center out. After the center is completed, and at the sound of a buzzer, each buddy pairing will exchange blankets as they also answer conversation prompts. Conversations will be private between the two buddies to foster trust. The projects started in class can be finished at home as a token of the time spent with a friend. Will you trust your friend to knit your blanket? Will you share your feelings with a friend?

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

Students should bring one skein of machine-washable yarn appropriate for knitting a blanket. Any yarn weight will do, but recommended yarns will be worsted to bulky weight yarns. Check the ball band for the appropriate needle size. Needles must be at least 40”/ 100 cm circular needles in order to work the magic loop method and hold the number of stitches as the blanket grows. Materials fee is for the pattern at wholesale price.

Materials Fee (to Be Paid Directly to the Teacher):
