Class Details:

Would you like your finished garments to have a more professional look, inside and out? Would you like better, more perfect results from your blocking? Would you like to breeze through garment construction? Selvedges will give you all this and more. In this class you’ll learn how to use them to your advantage for construction, finishing, and decoration; which selvedges to use when and where; how and why to switch from one selvedge to another in the course of working a single garment piece; how to add selvedges to a pattern and how to evaluate and when to modify those included in pattern directions. By the end of the class you will have a clear sense of how to work the most useful selvedges as well as the best practices to help guide your choices as you integrate selvedges into your knitting practice. The class handout will include a small selvedge stitch directory along with guidelines for their application.
