Knitting LIVE! the one-of-a-kind, experiential fiber-oriented event, is going virtual. At Virtual Knitting LIVE!, take inspirational workshops from the comfort of your own home on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. 

No; classes are only offered live. They will not be recorded. 

Classes will be held LIVE November 10–113, 2022. Please note all classes will be held in Eastern Time. 

Classes and lectures will be held in the comfort of your own home via a computer, smartphone, or tablet. 

You are able to connect to our live classes, which will be held on our online meeting and webinar provider, Zoom, with a computer, smartphone, or tablet and internet connection. We suggest having a strong internet connection so the video does not buffer. For smartphones and tablets, the Zoom app is available in the app store of your choice for all devices. Zoom suggest you have at least 2 MPBS of upload and download speed from your internet service provider. Click here to check your internet bandwith.

Yes, we worked with our website security and Zoom to ensure that only our registered attendees will have access to the classes. All registrants will receive an email by November 8, 2022, with information on how to log in and access your personal schedule in the Event Hub. Your Event Hub gives you access to your registered classes along with all virtual vendor live shops and Marketplace extras. When you register for the event, you will be asked to create a password; this password is the only way to access your personal schedule in the Event Hub.

When you register, you will receive a confirmation email with a list of your registered sessions. You’ll be able to see all your registered classes, the Virtual Marketplace, and Free Marketplace Extras sessions in your Event Hub, a link to which will be emailed to you by November 8, 2022. Please be sure to enter your classroom 15 minutes prior to the start of class to work out any technical issues you may have. You will receive a reminder 30 minutes prior to the start of each of the class.

Grab your supplies as listed in the class description and any homework if requested by the teacher, find a quiet space in your home, and set up your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Headphones are recommended but not required. You will receive an email by November 8, 2022 with information on how to access your personal schedule Event Hub. For each class there will be a “join session” button; please be sure to enter your classroom 15 minutes prior to the start of class to work out any technical issues you may have.  

Exit the class and reenter the room. If you are still having issues, restart your device and rejoin the class. You will join each vendors session to see their latest products by signing into the Event Hub. You will be able to purchase these products off the vendors’ websites, and additional information will be provided in each vendor's room.

Virtual Knitting LIVE has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind. If a person engages in harassing behavior, Knitting LIVE! staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from any and all Virtual Knitting LIVE! events with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE at the virtual event. Exhibitors, attendees, speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, and security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.

Class and Lecture times are specified on the Classes page and all will be held in the Eastern time zone. 

Registration will be opening soon for all packages, individual classes, or lectures. Teachers, classes, events, dates, vendors, and times are subject to change without notice. Payment in full must accompany registration. If you would like to use a promotional code you have received, be sure to input your code when prompted. 

Yes you can change your registration. You can do it yourself by simply clicking here or on the link that was emailed to you in your confirmation email, log in, and you'll be able to make changes to your class selections. Yes, registrations for some classes will be accepted up until sessions begin. Some sessions may sell out in advance, or the need for homework may close the class in advance, so please register as early as possible to secure your spot.

Yes. To save time, we recommend you choose your classes before registering.

For some classes, homework is listed. Homework is work that teachers require be completed before your class begins. For homework, please visit the Classes page, select a class, and then click on the magnifying glass. Any homework needed for that particular class will be listed. For some classes, supplies are listed. Supplies are tools that teachers request you have on hand for class. For required supplies, please visit the Classes page, select a class, and then click on the magnifying glass. Any supplies needed for that particular class will be listed. In addition to the class supply list, if you have favorite tools, have them handy. Scissors, stitch markers, stitch holders, tape measure, hooks and needles in different sizes, support gloves, and note-taking materials are all useful to have at hand.

The following is a general guideline. Please refer to the specific class for additional prerequisite information. Please check that the class is at your skill level.

 

All Levels Welcome: Accessible and of interest to those who have years of experience as well as those just starting out.

Beginner: Can knit and purl, cast on and bind off. Eager to learn!

Advanced Beginner: Has beginner skills, plus can work simple increases/decreases, follow written instructions, and can work basic stitch patterns. Ready to move to the next level.

Intermediate: All skills of an advanced beginner, plus proficiency working in the round and has completed multiple accessories or a basic garment. Proficient in many kinds of stitch patterns.

Experienced: Skilled at all knitting techniques. Able to adjust patterns and personalize knits via fit and/or design.

Expert: Experienced in all techniques and looking for a real challenge.

Attendees can choose from several registration options, including individual classes, individual lectures, and packages. Please refer to the Registration page for details.

To use your discount code, please input the code when prompted. The site will automatically calculate your registration fees and subtract the code’s value. Please note that only one discount code can be used per customer. 

Feel free to make a change to your schedule up through November 7. You can do it yourself by simply clicking here or on the link that was emailed to you, log in, and make a change to your registration. All cancellations must be received in writing via e-mail. Cancellations received on or before November 4, 2022, will be issued a credit to a future Knitting LIVE! event. After November 4, 2022, no credits will be issued for cancellations or no-shows. If you cannot attend, a substitute may attend in your place at no extra charge. Substitution requests must be received before November 4, 2022. VK will not issue refunds for Credentials that have been revoked. If you miss a class due to unresolvable technical issues, you will be issued a class credit.

In the unlikely event that Knitting LIVE! cancels a class, we will make every effort to find you a suitable class substitution. If you are not satisfied with the substitute, you may choose another class, and the $10 class change fee will be waived. If you are unsatisfied with either option, we will gladly refund the cost of the class. If you purchased the canceled class within a package, you will be refunded the prorated class rate.

Absolutely. This website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your personal information when you place your order. This means your order cannot be read as it travels over the Internet, so your name, address, and credit card information are secure.

If your problems are technical in nature (your browser is reporting errors or pages are failing to load correctly), please first try quitting and relaunching your browser and/or restarting your computer. Also, be sure you are not blocking cookies in your browser’s preferences (cookies are required for the registration form to work). Children 13 and older can register for classes with a parent or guardian present.  

Yes, students save 10% off classes. Please email a copy of your Student ID to vklive@vogueknitting.com receive your discount code. 

By attending Virtual Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting you understand that photographs and/or audio/video recordings taken at the Event by VK, or by others on behalf of VK, may include a Participant’s image, name, voice and/or likeness.  By attending and/or participating in the Event, you hereby grant permission to VK and SoHo Publishing Company (“SoHo Publishing”), and their agents, employees, and licensees the right to use the photography and/or audio/video recordings of you and members of your family, without credit or compensation, for any purpose, including but not limited to commercial purposes, in any and all manner and media now known or hereafter devised, through the world in perpetuity. You agree that photographs and/or audio/video recordings of your participation in the Event may be edited at the discretion of VK. Furthermore, you grant permission to use your voice and statements, with or without association to your name, for the purpose of advertising and publicity without restriction.  You expressly release VK and SoHo Publishing, and their agents, employees, and licensees from and against any claims that you have or may have for invasion of privacy, defamation, or any other cause of action arising out of production, distribution, broadcast, or exhibition of this Event.  You agree that all intellectual property resulting from the Event is the sole property of VK.

Of course! We encourage attendees to take photos, screenshots and share what you learned in your classes. Post them online using the hashtags #knittinglive, #virtualknittinglive, and #whatilearnedatvkl!

Closed captioning is available for all classes, lectures, and Marketplace Extras. Vendors have been asked to provide closed captioning for their sessions as well. To turn on closed captioning, on the bottom right of the Zoom window, simply select the ^ next to “Closed Caption." Select “Show Subtitle” to turn on the captioning and select “Hide Subtitle” to turn off the captioning. To best view the closed captioning, we suggest logging on with a computer. If planning on using a tablet or smartphone, please be aware that depending on the device, the chat feature may block the captioning. If the captioning is blocked, a quick fix is to turn off the chat. To do this simply click on the chat, then click on the bell icon on the top right hand side of the screen to “mute” chat notifications.

If you are using an iPad and having issues scrolling, please make sure the scrolling option on your iPad in settings is turned on. Another option is to hold your two fingers on the section and move them up and down to scroll.
