Tassel & Dash: A Make-and-Take Workshop with Lesley Robinson

Saturday, April 26, 12:30PM-1:00PM EST

Join us for Tassel & Dash, a fun and creative hands-on workshop where you'll learn to make beautiful decorative tassels in no time! Whether you're looking to add a stylish touch to your handmade projects, accessorize your bags, or create unique home decor, this class will teach you the essential techniques for crafting perfect tassels.
In this quick and engaging session, you'll explore different fiber options, embellishments, and finishing techniques to customize your tassels to match your personal style. By the end of the class, you'll have a gorgeous handmade tassel (or two!) to take home and plenty of inspiration for future projects.

Supplies:

  • Yarn or Embroidery Floss – Any fiber and color(s) of your choice, scraps are perfect (multiple colors make it fun!)
  • Scissors – Sharp enough for clean cuts
  • Cardboard or Book – For wrapping your tassel; I recommend at least 4"/ 10 cm in length, but think about the size of the tassel you want to create.

  • Small Comb or Brush (Optional) – For fluffing out fibers

Make-n-Take Crochet Chain Provisional Cast On For A Rolled Hem with Emily O'Brien

Sunday April 27, 12:00-12:30PM EST

A provisional cast on allows you to go back to the beginning of your knitting and work from the opposite end. This cast on is extremely useful for things like rolled hems, or even if you want to start a project and aren’t sure what you want the edge to look like yet. We’ll be using my Wolf Moon Spell Pouch Pattern as an easy make & take project to teach this method. The drawstring channel of this bag is made using a rolled hem that utilizes the crochet chain provisional cast on, so it’s the perfect quick project to practice a new skill!

Supplies:

  • 20g mini skein of fingering weight yarn
  • Waste yarn in a different color
  • US 2/2.75mm DPNs or long circular for Magic Loop (or any size where you are happy with your gauge for the bag)
  • Extra similar sized DPNs or long circular for folded hem join
  • Size F/3.75mm Crochet Hook (or similar size)
  • Practice creating a crochet chain.
