More than 68% of women are size 18 or more, yet most of the yarn industry chooses to focus on the 32%. Size Inclusivity is not just about making patterns that result in clothing that we can get on our bodies. It’s about understanding body shape, body size and proportion, ease, and how clothing SHOULD fit, while understanding what all of these mean for each maker. In this session, Kim will talk about what true Size Inclusivity means and strategies to help you form a plan for Size Inclusion as designers and dyers to show your support for multiple bodies in the yarn world, while maintaining a strong business presence. You will learn lessons from the sewing pattern world around Size Inclusion, and will be provided with a list of inclusion resources to help support your work.
