Colors are all around us. In nature they serve a purpose of keeping the cycle of growth going—cues for bees and all sorts of animals that it is time to pollinate, eat or not eat something. Certain animals camouflage with colors, flowers speak to each other through their hues etc. In our everyday life, colors makes us feel emotions, communicate a message, and fullfil our creativity. As makers of things, we are constantly choosing colors for our projects. The colors we are drawn to, or not, are not a coincidence; our relationship with colors is shaped by our life experience.

In this workshop we will explore why we are drawn to certain colors, how colors change our mood, how to choose colors so that we tell the story that we want to tell trough our craft, and how many factors come into play when it comes the time to pick colors. There are "mechanical" factors, such as our brain or our eyes, that makes us gravitate toward certain colors, and there are also "emotional" factors that come into play such as lived experiences, moods, or messages we want to convey. Combining all these to tell our story and be more at ease with picking colors is so fun to explore, looking forward to diving into this subject with you!
