Class Details:

In this class I will be demonstrating how to design your own knit hat using simple templates and techniques. We will discuss sizing and measurements, selecting stitches, cables, decreases, and blocking. Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, working in the round, cables, have knit a few accessories, easy colorwork

Homework:

Using your favorite DK, Aran, or worsted weight yarn (using a US 7, 8, or 9 circular needle-16”), cast on 80 sts for DK using US 7 circulars, or 72 sts for Aran/worsted using US 8 or 9 circulars. Work a 3” 2x2 brim (K2, P2), and put your project on hold. Be sure to bring the next size up needle for the body of the hat (this is what we will be working on together in class).

Supplies for Class:

-1 skein of DK (240yds),or Aran/worsted weight yarn (150yds). - US 6 and 7-16” circulars (for DK yarn users). - US 8 and 9-16” circulars (for Aran/worsted yarn users). - stitch marker.
