Class Details:

Grafting or Kitchener stitch is a skill that every knitter should have—it opens up a lot of possibilities! Join two rows of live stitches in garter stitch or stockinette so no one will be able to tell you did. In this class I will tell you to "see" and understand the stitches, and go from there. Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, have knit a few accessories

Homework:

1) Using a DK or Sportweight yarn, cast on 20 stiches and knit 10-20 rows in garter stitch. Do not bind off. Do this another time so you have two pieces to join. Leave the pieces on the needles, put them on holders or on a thread of yarn. 2) Using a DK or Sportweight yarn, cast on 20 stiches and knit 10-20 rows in stockinette (ie knit right-side rows, purl wrong-side rows). Do not bind off. Do this another time so you have two pieces to join. Leave the pieces on the needles, put them on holders or on a thread of yarn.

Supplies for Class:

Bring yarn of the same weight as your homework in a contrasting color and a tapestry needle.
