Class Details:

Fair Isle knitting is a traditional technique used to create patterns with multiple colors. It is named after Fair Isle, a small island in the north of Scotland, that forms part of the Shetland Islands. In this class, we will make a children’s hat composed of different colored hearts. Learn how to perfect this art form of knitting while knitting with two different colors of yarn and both hands. You will be amazed at how fun and easy Fair Isle knitting can be and the thousands of new projects that await. There is homework for this class. Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off

Homework:

With a size #6 16’’ circular knitting needle, cast on 100 stitches. Join into the round being carful not to twist stitches. Place marker to mark beginning of the round. Work in K2,P2 rip for 2 inches. Leave stitches on the needle.

Supplies for Class:

2 colors worsted weight yarn and the needles you used in your swatch
