Class Details:

Modifying knitting patterns is a completely natural thing to do and corresponds well with the meaning behind knitting: expressing our creativity by making items that 100% unique and personal to us. The objective of this workshop is to have knitters walk out of here with a new understanding of patterns and knitting but also feel equipped to take on the challenge of making items that are personal and unique to them but also the best fitting clothing in their wardrobe. Throughout this workshop, we will walk through many different modifications that are necessary for each knitting pattern (but people tend to ignore) and others that will allow the knitter to make something that fits them perfectly. Technique Requirements: have knit a few accessories, experience with top-down garment construction, basic finishing techniques

Homework:

Find a pattern that you have wanted to knit, but have waited because you might want to modify certain aspects of it.

Supplies for Class:

yarn for gauge swatching, pattern example.
