Class Details:

In this class, you'll learn the tips and tricks on the technique, how to plan an intarsia project, and get to casting on a project of your own. The class project walks you to intarsia, duplicate stitch, and a wee bit of stranded knitting to really show how these methods of adding color to your projects work together! Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, chart reading, have knit a few accessories, easy colorwork

Homework:

The class project is knit flat and requires 3 yarns in the same weight of different colors including a neutral background color and two contrasting colors paired with suitable needles for a tighter gauge so the stitches sit snug next to each other. I’ll be using 3 DK weight yarns with 4.5 mm (US 7) straight needles.

Using your background color, cast on 30 sts with your preferred cast-on method.
Knit 6 rows.
Then knit the following two rows:
Row 1 (WS): k3, p to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 2 (RS): k to end.
Repeat Row 1 once more.  Don't cut your yarn, bring to class on the needles.

Abbreviations: k - knit, p - purl, RS - right side, sts - stitches, WS - wrong side

Supplies to Bring:

In addition to your homeowork, please bring 3 yarns in the same weight of different colors including a neutral background color and two contrasting colors, suitable needles, scissors and a tapestry needle. Straight needles can be helpful here if you have them but not necessary. I'll be using DK-weight yarn and 4.5 mm (US 7).
