Class Details:

This class is 6 of 6 in a series called Casting On and Binding Off for Modern Edges. You do not need to take all six! But as a whole they will give you a great set of skills. The picot hem is a decorative edge incorporating stockinette stitch and basic lace techniques. We’ll create this folded hem beginning with a few rows of stockinette stitch before reviewing a yarn over increase and a 1-stitch decrease. When we’re ready to fold the hem, Brandi will review 2 ways to complete the hem – one for beginners and one for intermediate knitters. This finish creates a strong, double knit fabric that prevents curling at the bottom of your garments. The Picot Hem is simple and looks especially pretty on scarves, blankets and baby garments. Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; have knit a few accessories; basic finishing techniques
