Class Details:

You’ve knit your project and now you’re ready to be done. But there’s one more step that can take your project from “that’s nice” to “WOW!”: finishing. In this class, we’ll explore 3 sewn finishes that can take your project to the next level. Learn how to invisibly bind off 1/1 and 2/2 ribbing and master the Kitchener stitch for seamless joins. It’s easier than you think!

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, basic finishing techniques

Homework:

4 mini-swatches: 24 sts wide, 1"/2.5 cm tall. Do NOT bind off. Make 2 swatches in stockinette, 1 in 1/1 ribbing, and 1 in 2/2 ribbing. (Hint: You're more than welcome to simply unravel the bind-off of a few existing swatches, just be sure that the 2 stockinette are of the same weight and gauge.)

Supplies for Class:

Knitting needles, yarn, tapestry needle, scissors -- these finishing techniques can be practiced on any weight yarn/gauge. If unsure, I recommend working the swatches in DK-weight yarn using US 7/4.5 mm needles.
