Shawl Design 101 (Part 2 of 2)

This is a two-part class. Both sections of the class will automatically be placed in your cart when you select one of the sessions.

Find your inner knitwear designer in a supportive learning atmosphere. Over two 2-hour sessions, you will learn basic shawl shapes, design math, why gauge swatches are important even for accessories, and where to find inspiration and how to store it for dry spells.

Technique Requirements: Students are expected to be comfortable with knitting basics. We will not be going over how to do specific stitches, but rather how to combine stitches and do the math to create something new.

A free seat has been reserved in this class for any prospective student identifying as a member from the qtbipoc community (queer, trans, black, indigenous, people of color). please fill out the application form at the link below. winners will be drawn randomly from the list of applicants on February 8.

100g fingering-weight yarn, 3.75mm (US 5) 60cm (32”) circular needle, notebook, pen/pencil, calculator.
