PATTY LYONS (pattylyons.com) is a nationally recognized knitting teacher and technique expert who is known for teaching the “why,” not just the “how,” in her pursuit of training the “mindful knitter.” She specializes in sweater design and sharing her love of the much-maligned subjects of gauge and blocking.

Patty teaches nationally at guilds, shops, and knitting shows around the country as well as hosting her own retreats. Her popular classes can also be found online at Patty Lyons' Knitting School: education.pattylyons.com.

Patty is the author of best-selling books Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks and Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks: The Official Workbook. Her upcoming book, Patty Lyons' Knitting ER: A step-by-step guide to fixing your knits, before and after bind-off will be published in October 2026.
