In this class, you will learn the basics of Tunisian crochet and how to take the first steps in this technique through its three basic stitches: Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian knit stitch, and Tunisian full stitch. These stitch patterns allow you to grasp the dynamics of Tunisian crochet, explore new textures, and learn the differences between the construction of Tunisian and traditional crochet. We will be working on swatches together for a better practice and, after that, you will learn how to add beautiful edges to your swatches so you can turn them into nice coasters. This class is going to make you confident in your first steps in Tunisian crochet so you can later explore all the countless possibilities, from simple scarves to complex garments.

Technique Requirements: For this class, you just need to be familiar with two basic stitches of traditional crochet: chain stitch and single crochet.

There is no need for a Tunisian crochet hook for this class: you can do everything with your traditional crochet hook as long as it doesn't have a handle in sizes 8 mm (L/11) or 9 mm (M/13). Use Aran weight yarn.
