But for the last thirteen years, center-out double knit blankets have become her passion. Her first double-knit blanket was rectangular (with its attendant challenges). Then nearly ten years later she began a series of octagonal blankets. JC Briar’s extraordinary charting system, Stitch-maps, opened the doors to far more extravagant designs and now Lucy averages one a year (they are large).
