I broke my right elbow a few years ago and was going bananas without working on my craft projects. I taught myself how to crochet one handed with my left hand and it saved my sanity! Learning adaptable crafting skills helps you keep creating even when your physical ability level changes. We will have two options for securing our hook in this class, in the crook of the arm you’re not using, or to a table (not using the off arm at all!). This is not a beginner class—you will be taught how to adapt your crochet style to the hand you already secure your yarn in, we not be covering how to form basic stitches from the start, we will be covering how to adapt them to one hand.
Technique Requirements: beginner crochet
Have a few rows of granny stripe ready to go:
Chain 29sts
ROW 1: 28 sc. Turn.
ROW 2: 3 ch, 1 dc in the same stitch, *skip 2, 3 dc in the next st* repeat to the end of the row, 2 dc in the last st of the row. Turn.
ROW 3: 2 ch, 3 dc in top of dc, *3 dc in each space between the clusters*, 1 dc in the last stitch (top stitch of the last turning chain).
ROW 4: 2 ch, 1 dc in top of dc, *3 dc in each space between the clusters*, 2 dc in the last st of the row.
Repeat rows 3 and 4 once more.
10g of scrap yarn, fingering to worsted appropriate for chosen crochet hook size (see below).
One of these two options:
• Tunisian crochet hook at least 12" long to tuck into your off arm.
• If you don't want to or can't use your off arm at all, you will need a Tunisian crochet hook, a Mini Jewelry Table Clamp https://a.co/d/00J0MlyI and a table/surface to attach your clamp to.
