Class Details:

Using short-rows to create colorful patterns in knitting is nothing new, and in recent years they’ve been used by knitwear designers in many popular patterns. Yet it’s never been pinned down, explained, and developed as its own technique—until now.

Since Woolly published their Elemental collection in 2017, they’ve been developing their own approach to short-row colorwork, refining the details and methods, and adapting its uses. Woolly’s innovative methods have formed a new colorwork technique for knitters to explore. Their new book, Short-Row Colorwork: The Definitive Step-by-Step Guide, is the first of its kind!

In this talk Woolly will guide you through the technique, outlining its primary methods and uses. Woolly will talk you through how they developed this technique, what makes it so unique, and why it differs from existing colorwork methods. Woolly will also bring the samples for each project in the book, and highlight how each guest designer has used the motifs and techniques in unique and unusual ways, highlighting the versatility of this new technique.
