Full Name
Carol Milne
Teacher Bio
Carol spent her first 18 years at 18 different addresses in Canada, Germany, the US, and Puerto Rico. The one constant was her obsession with handicraft and textile-based work in all its forms, but especially knitting. She spent two years in graduate school in sculpture, became disillusioned, and dropped out to raise children and to work on her own. She has been working as a sculptor ever since. She began studying glass at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle in 2000. In 2006, she combined her passion for knitting with her love for cast-glass sculpture and became the lone pioneer in the field of knitted glass, developing a variation of the lost-wax casting process to cast knitted work into glass. She now exhibits and teaches her process internationally.
