Class Details:
This course is not about designing garments, but learning how knitting can be used as a tool to express our favorite experiences, memories, and locations, like a journal or scrapbook. Participants will go through the process of taking a favorite image or experience and translating it into a swatch or series or swatches. This is a great way to experiment new stitches, techniques, and a fun way to use leftover yarns in your stash. Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; cables; beginner lace; chart reading; easy colorwork; basic finishing techniques
Homework:

Bring 2-3 images that inspire you, that you would like to explore deeper as a knitted design.

Supplies for Class:

1) Materials: A few yarns from your stash and leftover yarn to experiment with different weights, colors, and fibers. Leftover skeins from your old projects are perfect for this! Bring as many yarns as possible that match colors from your 2-3 images of inspiration (homework). 2) Tools: Needles/crochet hooks in a few different sizes to experiment with (an interchangeable kit is perfect for this)
