Remember when the thought of dropping a stitch made your heart stop? Now learn to let that GO! With drop-stitch patterns you will discover the beauty of dropping a stitch on purpose! Drop-stitch patterns are fun and add a wow factor to anything you knit. In this hands-on knitting class, we will explore a variety of beautiful drop-stitch patterns that add texture and include manipulated drops and lifted floats. Add a bit of wow to any pattern. Come on, drop a stitch, and let it go! Technique Requirements: Must know how to work basic increases and increases, including yo. Must know how to read your stitches.
Homework:
NOTE: If the homework is not done correctly we will not be able to work with that swatch. Work 4 swatches, leave all on needles (or stitch holder) with yarn still attached. We will be working these swatches:

Swatch #1 – CO 21 stitches
Row 1: K across
Row 2: K across
Row 3: *P2tog, YO; repeat from * to last stitch, P1
Row 4: K across
Row 5: K across
Row 6: K across

Swatch #2 – CO 24 stitches
Set-up row (RS): K1, *p2, k1, yo, k1, p2, k2; rep from *, end last repeat with k1 — 27 sts.
Rows 1, 3, 5 (WS): P1, *k2, p3, k2, p2; rep from *, end last repeat with k2, p1.
Rows 2, 4 (RS): Knit the knits, purl the purls.

Swatch #3 – CO 21 stitches
Set-up row (RS): K1, p1, *k5, p1; rep from * to last st, end k1.

Swatch #4 – CO 20 stitches
Abbreviations:
tk2tog – Twisted k2tog – slip two sts as if to knit, transfer both sts purlwise back to left needle, k2tog. Creates a twisted, right-slanting dec.
k2togtbl – Knit two together through the back loop. Create a twisted, left-slanting dec.
Tbl – through back loop
Set-up row 1 (WS): P2, k1, *p1, ptbl x2, p1, k1; rep from * , end p2.
Set-up row 2: (RS): K2, p1, tk2tog, yo x 2, k2togtbl, p1, k1, ktbl x2, k1,  p1, tk2tog, yo x 2, k2togtbl, p1, k2.
Set-up row 3: P2, k1, p1tbl, p into 1st YO, let 2nd drop, p1tbl, k1, p1, ptbl x2, p1, k1, p1tbl, p into 1st YO, let 2nd drop, p1tbl, k1, p2—18 sts.
