Class Details:
This is a multi-part class. Attendees must register for all parts in order to take this class. Ever wished you knew how to add cables to a sweater pattern? The first step to designing is the urge to change patterns. Explore how to add cables to an existing pattern and how to substitute one cable for another while studying examples from hats and scarves to skirts and sweaters. Norah has devised a method to make switching up cables easier, but be prepared to swatch. This six-hour class takes the day to fully develop and prove our ideas. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cables; chart reading; have knit a whole garment
Homework:
Optional: Bring a pattern you’d like to add a cable to. Garments or accessories in stockinette stitch are best, or patterns that already have cable panels.
Supplies to Bring:
Yarn appropriate to the pattern you are bringing (optional) or worsted-weight wool in a light or medium color. Bringing several types of yarn is recommended so you can experiment. Needles to match the yarns + cable needle or double-pointed needle to use as a cable needle.
