You know how to seam pieces, pick up stitches, and block your project. There is still more to learn to perfect your garment. We will talk about collar shaping for best results, neckline refining, raglan lines options, modifications of yoke decreases, short rows for darts and better fit, perfect set-in sleeves, cuff options, zipper installation, buttons placement, and more. Use what you learned in this class to modify and perfect your next sweater. Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; have knit a whole garment; basic finishing techniques; short rows
Homework:
Hw #1: With worsted and light-colored yarn make 2 swatches in St. st. as follows: Each swatch: CO 30 sts. Row 1: Sl1 wyf, purl to last st, k1. Row 2: Sl1 wyf, bring yarn to back, knit to end. Repeat these 2 rows until piece measures 3"/7.5 cm. Bind off all sts. Block the swatch. Hw #2 With worsted and light-colored yarn make 2 swatches in St. st. as follows: Each swatch: CO 30 sts. Row 1: Sl1 wyf, purl to last st, k1. Row 2: Sl1 wyf, bring yarn to back, knit to end. Repeat these 2 rows until piece measures 1.5"/3.5 cm. Transfer all sts live on waste yarn. Block the swatch.
