“I’m afraid to knit socks, it looks to hard.” “Socks are not for beginner knitters.” “I always get holes when I knit socks.” “I don’t understand the heel.” If you have ever said any of these things, then No Fear Sock Knitting is for you.
This class is designed to help beginner sock knitters understand the basics of sock knitting, starting with tools, yarn choices, needle selection, knitting style (double-pointed needles, magic loop, and 2 circular needles) and sock construction options: top down or toe up. The No Fear Sock Knitting class also contains a hands-on workshop where I will teach you how to knit a basic sock from the top down using 2 circular needles. We will learn to cast on, knit in the round, knit a basic heel flap and gusset, and apply the Kitchener stitch to close the toe. You will receive handouts with points to remember and video references so you can practice at home at your own pace. This class is appropriate for beginners who can cast on, knit, purl, increase, and decrease and have completed a few simple accessories. No sock knitting experience is required.
Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease, working in the round, have knit a few accessories
