Description

A Verb for Keeping Warm incorporates founders Kristine Vejar and Adrienne Rodriguez's love for textiles, natural dyes, and community. Through classes focused upon natural dyeing, knitting, sewing, spinning, and weaving, and via the materials we carry, many of which support US-based farms and manufacturing, we strive to preserve long standing textile traditions and to support others working to create a textile-centered art practice. Come and see our selection of yarn naturally-dyed in our Oakland studio. During our vendor market session, we will have pre-orders open for our line of yarn - so you can choose any color your heart desires - and we will dye it for you. We will have a trunk show featuring patterns knit out of Verb yarn - featuring designs by Cocoknits, Junko Okamoto, Denise Bayron, and Mara Licole. Also, there will be a full display of Cocoknits tools and patterns - we will demonstrate how these tools can help you become a better, happier knitter. Julie Weisenberger, the founder of Cocoknits, will pop in to give us a few tips and tricks to using her tools!
