Class Details:

This class is focused on learning the technique for working a modified heel flap adjustment (great to pair with short row heels for those with a higher instep) and how to work my version of a German Short Row heel. Note this is not a class on how to knit socks but will be focused only on the Heel portion of sock knitting.

Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round on Magic Loop or DPN’s for small circumference knitting; have had previous sock knitting experience

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

Pencil, eraser, paper/notebook, and a sock or two ready to have the heels knit on them (either cuff down or toe up will be fine).

For the sock to be worked in the class I suggest a small sample sock knit out of smooth worsted-weight yarn on larger needles to make seeing your stitches easier. CO 32sts on 4mm needles, work a short ribbed cuff and the leg for approx. 2 inches. Alternatively you can bring a regular sock to class knit out of standard sock yarn that is ready to have its heels knit in.
