Class Details:

Have a knitting machine and don’t know how or where to get started? Don't have a machine yet, but want to get some familiarity with how it works? If so, this class is for you. The machine can look a little intimidating and has a big learning curve upfront. However, once you learn the basics, teaching yourself specific techniques becomes much easier. The objective of this class is to set you up with a foundation of everything you need to know to care for your machine and start knitting. Through demos and swatch making, we will go step-by-step together through each of the following topics and address any questions you have along the way:

We will cover:
-The machine’s key components and tools
-Setting up the machine
-General machine maintenance
-Casting on and off
-Techniques you can explore while you practice these initial skills

Technique Requirements: A basic understanding of hand knitting is encouraged, but not necessary

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

A knitting machine and the tools that it came with (including a latch-hook), yarn suited for your machine (ideally spooled, but balls of yarn are fine), scissors, oil for your machine (Amsoil MP metal protector or comparable brand), a clean rag or old t-shirt that you don't mind getting dirty, and something to take notes with.
