Learn geometric knitting techniques while making a beautiful Pinwheel block. Learn two approaches: shaping and Intarsia for Garter stitch, to create the geometric shapes of the block modularly to minimize seaming. Margaret will demonstrate using mattress stitch to seam together blocks neatly, and how to purl backward so that you don’t need to turn your work when working a row with a small number of stitches (also useful in working short rows in garter stitch). While you knit, Margaret will show you a presentation on how to choose colors for knitted homewares from yarn lines or stash, and show animated constructions of many of her blanket designs to give you insight into how they are created. Included with this class are the associated technique handouts and the full digital pattern for the Pinwheel blanket.
