Knitting in Scandinavia can be traced back to nalbinding in Viking times, through texture then to the colorwork we associate with the region today. In this lecture, we'll trace the development of knitting in this area and talk about the distinctive styles that developed and have become iconic today. We'll look as well at some contemporary designers who draw on these traditions to make contemporary designs.
