"Adaptive Knitting" is designed for anyone who wants to learn or re-learn to knit, especially those facing physical challenges, neurological hurdles, or changes in their body due to aging, illness, injury, or any other reason. This workshop encourages participants to embrace adaptation as a form of creativity, helping them develop personalized knitting techniques that suit their individual movements. Drawing from personal experience, Beth will guide students through the process of adjusting knitting methods to ensure a comfortable and rewarding experience. Participants will also receive a free copy of Beth’s "Born This Way Shawl" pattern and a demonstration of using yarn overs and garter rows to create beautiful textures in their projects.

If you are already a knitter, work a 4-inch Stockinette swatch in the yarn of your choice (see Supplies) and leave it on the needles. Make sure to note the brand, gauge, fiber content, and needle size used.
• 1 skein of Aran- or bulyk-weight yarn caked or otherwise ready to knit from (not in a tied skein) • A few sets of needles appropriate to your yarn choice (Size US8 or larger). Bring a few different types if you have them—circular, straight, metal, wood, acrylic, etc. • Notebook or tablet for taking notes • Smartphone or camera for snapping photos • An open mind
