Class Details:

One of the most pleasant aspects of knitting is to give a new life to yarn leftovers and what we have in our stash! It is not rare to have a perfect skein sit in the yarn cabinet for years, or precious small balls from previous projects. The “Upcycling Your Stash” series was created to stimulate creativity, to experiment with different techniques to create a knitting piece with what we have!

In this class we are going to maximize the use of stashed yarns and leftovers, focusing on stripes over different knit stitches! There is a lot of history in textiles about stripes—as we talk about some of them, we will knit small swatches exploring striped color sequences over plain and textured knit stitches.

We will block our favorite swatches and see how they will behave as an allover fabric and as a small detail. It’s quite fascinating to visualize the preview of our own creation and future projects! Participants will receive 4 patterns (2 types of triangular shawls, a cowl, and a pair of socks) to use as a template.
