Have you ever turned your knitting on its side and explored how differently the stitches behave? Rotating our knitting opens up a whole new world to explore!
In this class Woolly will walk you through how the properties of our stitches change and why, and compare the roles of increases & decreases vs short rows, and what happens to them when we rotate our work. You’ll also learn how some of the most common stitch patterns take on different properties and roles when turned sideways.
We will consider how the property of the fabric changes, how to ensure it remains balanced and doesn’t distort, and rethink how we shape our knitted fabric.
For a class example Woolly will use a basic sideways knit hat, but you can use the methods in almost any project!
