Class Details:

Explore how to use one- and two-color brioche and the syncopation technique to create beautiful color fades in brioche, while knitting the Fading Light Cowl. Apart from one- and two-color brioche knit flat and in-the-round and brioche decreases, the class also covers techniques for provisional cast-on, i-cord bind-off and attached i-cord, and how to combine colors to create a color fade.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, basic brioche comfort

Homework:

Knit a gauge swatch in brioche to determine what needle size to use for your cowl. The pattern is written for 15 sts / 21 rows over 10 cm / 4” on US 7 & 4.5 mm needles.

Supplies to Bring:

Four colors of DK-weight yarn (about 80 m / 87.5 yds per color) and US 7/4.5 mm 24“/60 cm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge or optimal drape), tapestry needle, 1 stitch marker, 2 lengths of waste yarn, crochet hook for provisional CO .
