Class Details:

If your knits and purls could talk, what kinds of stories would they tell about you and the world? About your taste, your travels, your friends and loved ones, your thoughts and emotions, your dreams and fantasies?

In this new lecture, Melanie Falick will suggest fun and thought-provoking ways in which we can explore and document our experiences knitting, for our personal journals and/or to share with giftees, in the process creating a record of our projects, plus the important role knitting plays in our lives.

Melanie will begin by telling a few stories about her most recent and treasured projects, tales of love, loss, celebration, challenge, work, and friendship. Next, she will share a wide variety of prompts that we can use to help recount our own stories.

Beyond the basics (name and source of pattern, needle size, gauge, name of yarn, care information), let’s explore the real stories our handknits hold, the stories of who we are, how we live, and what we feel.
