This is a two-part class. Both sections of the class will automatically be placed in your cart when you select one of the sessions.
Inspired by Norwegian sweaters and the pearl collars of Greenland, the first knitting pattern of a round yoke sweater was published in a knitting magazine in 1956. Color patterns are worked in this yoked portion while the body is usually worked plain.
While the traditional Icelandic yoked sweater is worked from the bottom up, it can be worked from the top down seamlessly. Try a mini sample to get a feel for how the construction works. Learn the math and planning to create your own version that will fit you to a tee.
Technique Requirements: Must be able to work stranded color knitting and be able to work from charts and have made garments before.

• Sport, DK, or worsted-weight yarn. 100 yds for main color (MC); 15 yds each of SAME weight yarn as MC for contrast colors 1 and 2 (CC1 and CC2). If you don’t want or don’t have another 2 colors of same weight, you can use 30 yds of only ONE contrast color.
• Double-pointed needles appropriate for yarn, short circulars if desired (like 9” and/or 12” and/or 16”). NOTE: you can use Magic Loop or two circs if desired in which case bring 1 or 2 long circular needles. Flex needles may also be used.
