This is a two-part class. Both sections of the class will automatically be placed in your cart when you select one of the sessions.
So you’ve taken the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop and knit a sweater using the Cocoknits Method and are ready for more? In Level II you will learn to use the Cocoknits method to design and knit a simple cardigan or pullover to your exact specifications. You’ll measure a garment (or garments) in your wardrobe and use those measurements to create a pattern that fits the way you want your handknit sweater to fit. This sweater pattern could also be for someone else, a partner, child, friend—as long as you can get some garment measurements from them. The class will involve calculating, measuring, and filling in numbers, but we should have some time to cast on and start your new sweater! You will come away with a pattern to knit, as well as a better understanding of the basics of sweater design.
Requirement: You must have taken the Cocoknits Sweater Workshop Level I class and be familiar with the Cocoknits method
Figure both stitch and row gauge over stockinette st (the class example will use 4 sts and 6 rows per inch). Then fill in the measurements of the blank schematic provided in your packet the week of the event. Do not use your body measurements, but rather measurements of garments from your wardrobe that are at least close to what you want. It could be the shoulder width of one, bust measurement of another, and sleeve circumference of yet a third garment. Think about what is in your wardrobe and how you like to wear sweaters—close-fitting, oversized, or somewhere in between? We will tackle each measurement separately. For instance: If you have narrow shoulders (say a size medium) but a large bust (say a 1X) but like the sleeve circumference of a size large, that’s fine! Fill in what you are aiming for and you’ll learn how to create a template to knit to your unique measurements using the Cocoknits method.
