Class Details:

During this workshop, we will talk about geometric embroidery on wool. We will work several stitches directly on the knitted fabric, without any need for stabilizer or markers. This kind of embroidery is perfect to add finishing touches to any knitted project, as you can create really cool effects. I will explain to you different stitches and by learning some you will automatically learn others just by playing with the knitted fabric you’re working on and following the directions of the stitches and rows!

Geometric embroidery on wool is pure fun!

Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off

Homework:

Knit a swatch approx 10''x10'' (24x24cm) with DK or worsted yarn, but if you have bigger wool it'll work fine too!

Supplies to Bring:

Yarn: any kind of fingering and worsted yarn, even mohair yarn you have in your stash. Any color will do. Since this technique lets you play a lot with fabric, bring yarns with different thicknesses if you have any.

Knitted swatch (see homework).

Embroidery hoop approx 22cm /9" diameter (Not compulsory, but if you to have at hand, bring it!)

Scissors

Tapestry needles (make sure that the yarn you are using for the embroidery passes through the eye)
