Class Details:
In this class, we’ll knit a tiny unicorn together, covering all the techniques from start to finish: knitting on double-pointed needles, I-cord legs and horn, and embroidering a magical mane and tail. We’ll also go over how to use mattress stitch to shape knitted tubes into a little rainbow, so your unicorn can have a friend!
Homework:
(Optional) Make the Blue Band and Yellow Band according to the Tiny Rainbow pattern.
Supplies to Bring:
- Fingering, sport, or worsted-weight yarn in less than 10 yards of 4 colors (unicorn’s body and 3 rainbow pieces), plus a few yards of 4 contrasting colors (unicorn’s eyes, horn, and mane)
- Set of double-pointed needles 2–3 sizes smaller than normally recommended for your chosen yarn weight. (US 1/2.25mm for fingering; US 5/3.75mm for worsted-weight yarn)
- Polyester stuffing
- Tapestry needle and scissors
