Class Details:

Brioche stitch and Intarsia colorwork are best friends. In fact, it’s easier to do intarsia with 2-color brioche than it is with stockinette or garter stitch! In this class, we’ll review 2 color brioche stitch, then cast on a flat swatch. Using a combination of shaping and intarsia, students will knit a wavy color swatch. In the second half of class, students will learn how to modify their swatch, how to work in the round, and how to add intarsia elements to existing brioche patterns.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, increase/decrease

Homework:

Bring in something you’ve knit in 2-color brioche. A flat swatch works fine.

Supplies for Class:

3 colors of DK- or worsted-weight yarn, circular needles in a US #6 (4mm), stitch markers, a pencil and eraser, 2 different colored highlighters.
