Class Details:

Let's play and have some fun making a knitted bag! This class is all about exploring your creativity and using the knitting techniques you have been collecting over the years.

Vivi will show you some alternatives and you will create a completely customized bag. What kind of bottom shape do you prefer: flat, rectangular or circular? What about the body: in stockinette stitch, garter stitch, seed stitch, lace, cables, texture, fair isle or stripes? What would you like to close the bag: with an i-cord string or a zipper? Please, don't worry about the zipper. You will see at this class they are easier to apply than you can imagine!

You might even choose between the kind of linings. Do you prefer to make it knitted or would you like to seam it using a cute piece of quilting fabric? You will learn how to sew the lining by hand or using a sewing machine.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off, working in the round, have knit a few accessories, easy colorwork, basic finishing techniques

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

Be creative when planning the supplies for this class. You can bring your favorite yarn. There's no limits for fibers. Just remember to bring the correct needle size for the chosen weight. For example, if you choose a worsted weight, US 8 would be welcome!

We will work with small knitted circles, so double-pointed needles, small circular needles, or magic loop are very important.

• 1 skein of ANY kind of your favorite yarn
• double pointed needles or circular needles with 9 inches cable
• zippers
• fat-quarter of a quilting fabric
• hand sewing needle and thread
• pins
• markers
• colored pencil
