Class Details:

In this class you will learn how to work the flat three-needle BO (FTNBO). The well-known, traditional three-needle BO (TNBO) creates a very pronounced ridge, which not always welcome. The new flat BO, however, is flat and smooth on both sides. It can be used for many stitch patterns, and it is especially good in reverse stockinette and garter stitch.

First we will briefly study the structure of both traditional and flat TNBOs, then we will work many samples practicing how to work FTNBO for variety of stitch patterns.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl, cast on/bind off

Homework:

None

Supplies for Class:

A ball of DK- or worsted-weight yarn or a few small leftover balls in different colors; the needles to match the yarn, preferably dpns or circular needles, and one extra needle to perform BO; scissors.
