Amish stumpwork is also called plushwork or chenille work sometimes. The typical motifs are flowers and plants in general but can also include geometric shapes. The plushwork is soft and has several layers of color. The typical material to work with is wool yarn, hence “plushwork.” The embroidery looks and feels like a plush animal. This is a really fun and addicting technique. Templates will be provided by the teacher.
