Class Details:

Learn how fun it is to knit with both hands at once as you create mesmerizing patterns in two colors of yarn. In the class materials, you will be able to select one of many patterns to incorporate into the body of a simple hat. Some of the designs included are a snowflake, heart, checkerboard, diamonds, zig zag, and bubbles. Whether you are new to Stranded Colorwork or have tried it before, there is always a new trick to be learned in one of Shaina's workshops.

Homework:

Using worsted-weight yarn and size 7 circular needles 16" long, cast on 90 stitches. Place a marker and join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Work in either (K1, P1) ribbing or (K3, P3) ribbing for about 1–1.5” (your desired band width) and bring this to class with the other materials.

For Shaina's tips on casting on and joining in the round, watch this YouTube tutorial

Supplies for Class:

2 or 3 colors of worsted-weight yarn (about 120 yards of a main color and 50 yards of a contrast color that agree with your motif selection of either snowflake, heart, or checkerboard), size US 7 16” circular knitting needles, size US 7 DPN, stitch markers, and a pen or pencil.
