Class Details:

2-colour fisherman’s rib gives you the same fabric and look as brioche knitting without being as intimidating to work. This class is based around learning to work 2 Colour Fisherman’s rib both Flat and In the Round. So the idea is by the end of this class the students will have the skills to go away and work on larger projects involving Fisherman’s rib.

Technique Requirements: knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; working in the round; have knit a few accessories

Homework:

In the Round Sample: Using 4mm needles cast on 28sts and join to work in the round (you can do magic loop or use DPN’s for this whatever is easier for you to do small circumference knitting), knit approx. 3 rounds of K1, P1 ribbing. Do not cut your yarn.

Flat Sample: Using 4mm needles cast on 21sts and work approx. 3 rows of P1, K1 ribbing. Do not cut your yarn.

Supplies for Class:

2 colors of a worsted-weight or DK-weight yarn, preferably in high contrast. 2 sets of 4mm (US6) for worsted weight or 2 sets of 3.5mm (US4) for DK-weight yarn. Cable needle (optional as we will cover how to cable without one as well in class). Pen, notebook, tapestry needle, scissors.
