Every knitter loves to discover new and interesting stitch patterns. This class gives you a chance to try out a couple of unusual stitches that I’ve found in Japanese garments. We’ll review the symbols used in these designs, then swatch as much as time allows. You don’t need to know how to read a Japanese pattern, but you do need to be comfortable knitting from charts. The charts may be difficult to interpret, or complicated to execute, so bring an adventuresome attitude. These stitches are drawn from sources other than the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible, but what you learn will be applicable. You should have some experience with knitting lace, and you must be comfortable working from charts.

Technique Requirements: Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; beginner lace; chart reading; have knit a few accessories; short rows; must be comfortable knitting from stitch pattern charts.
