Sahara Briscoe is an internationally prominent textile developer and fabricator. Commissioned textiles developed and produced by Sahara have been shown at the 2010 Shanghai World's Fair, the Stedelijk Museum, The Netherlands and in galleries in New York, Dublin, London, Amsterdam and Sweden. As a teacher of fiber crafts, Sahara has instructed numerous students, both privately and as a teaching artist for Harlem Needle Arts, New York City. She recently finished two semesters as a guest lecturer in Yarn Spinning, at Parsons School of Design. In August of 2017 Sahara taught a community weaving workshop aboard SWALE, a floating art project docked alongside Concrete Park in the Bronx. Neighborhood residents learned to weave within minutes to create a "Banner of Representation" hung for display in the park.
